What changes the price of liposuction?
Five things move the price most: how many areas you treat, how much fat is removed, the technique, the type of anaesthesia and where the surgery is done. Argent Plastic Surgery and Dr Marco Faria Correa list the same factors, including the surgical setting MOH rules require.
- Areas. Fees are usually quoted per area. Shens Clinic notes the abdomen may involve several treatment areas.
- Technique. Dr Marco Faria Correa's guide gives S$4,000 to S$10,000 for traditional liposuction and S$6,000 to S$13,000 for VASER as general ranges.
- Anaesthesia and setting. General anaesthesia in a hospital costs more than local anaesthesia in a licensed clinic.
- Extras. Garments, medication, tests and reviews may be billed separately.
Is liposuction cheaper if I do several areas at once?
The total goes up with each area, but combining areas can cost less than separate operations. Dr Marco Faria Correa's guide says some fixed costs, such as facility time, are shared when areas are treated in one session.
Ask the surgeon to price each area and the combined session, so you can see what is shared.
Can I use MediSave or insurance for liposuction?
Usually not. Argent Plastic Surgery states that liposuction is generally considered cosmetic and is not MediSave-claimable or insurance-claimable in most circumstances. Plan to pay in cash, and ask the clinic about payment terms.

How do I compare liposuction quotes fairly?
Ask every provider for an all-in written quote covering the surgeon, anaesthetist, facility, garments, medication and reviews, with GST shown. Then compare like for like: same areas, same technique and same setting.
- Confirm the doctor is on the Singapore Medical Council register and, for specialists, the Specialists Register.
- Ask where the surgery will be done and who gives the anaesthesia.
- Ask whether follow-up reviews are included.
