What changes the price of a custom birthday cake?

Design work changes the price most. Message and ombre cakes are priced mainly by size, while 3D, sculpted and tiered cakes are priced by design and need more notice. Extras such as LED lights, tight delivery windows and dietary requests add smaller amounts.

  • Size: Happy Cake's Create Your Own Ombre cake costs S$39.90 at 5 inches, S$65 at 7 inches and S$95 at 9 inches.
  • Design: My Bake Studio, which lists over 700 designs, prices cakes from S$55 for an Ondeh Ondeh cake up to S$338 for a Keynote Piano cake.
  • Tiers: Bloomsbury Bakers' single-tier Pastel cake starts at S$95, while its two-tier Pastel Sprinkles cake starts at S$270.
  • Extras: Happy Cake's LED Ombre cakes cost S$79.90 to S$179.90, against S$39.90 to S$95 for its standard ombre cakes.
  • Delivery timing: Bob the Baker Boy charges S$11.90 for a 9am to 6.30pm window, but S$39.90 for a 1-hour window.

How much does cake delivery cost in Singapore?

Standard cake delivery usually costs S$11.90 to S$20, and several bakeries deliver free once the order passes S$150 to S$180. A fixed 1-hour window, early or late slots and some outlying areas such as Sentosa or Tuas cost more.

How far ahead should you order a custom birthday cake?

Order 5 to 14 days ahead for most custom cakes, and 3 to 4 weeks ahead for tiered or sculpted cakes or during peak seasons. Some bakeries sell express designs with 3 days' notice, and a few can deliver ready designs within hours.

Bloomsbury Bakers' ordering guide asks for 5 to 14 days for custom cakes, rising to 3 to 4 weeks in peak seasons, while its Express Custom Cakes need only a 3-day preorder. Happy Cake asks for at least 3 days for most cakes and 5 to 7 days for custom ones. Tings Bakery suggests 1 to 2 weeks for simple cakes and 3 to 4 weeks for tiered or sculpted designs. Bob the Baker Boy says customers usually order about a month ahead. If you are short of time, Whyzee shows its earliest availability as within 8 hours, or 4 hours for some designs.

What size cake do you need for your guests?

A 6 inch cake serves about 6 to 8 people and an 8 inch cake about 10 to 15, according to Bloomsbury Bakers' serving guide. For 25 or more guests, a 10 inch cake or a two-tier cake is the usual choice.

Cake sizeApproximate servings

5 inch message cake5 to 6
6 inch6 to 8
8 inch10 to 15
10 inch20 to 25
Two-tier, 6 inch on 8 inch25 to 35

Source: Bloomsbury Bakers' ordering guide and message cake listing. The message cake listing gives slightly more generous figures for larger sizes (6 to 9 people for 6 inches, 10 to 18 for 8 inches), so treat these as rough guides and ask your bakery how it cuts its cakes.

Do custom cake prices include GST?

Most bakery sites do not say. Of the ten bakeries in this guide, only Edith Patisserie shows prices both with and without GST, for example S$130.80 including GST and S$120.00 before GST. Ask the others whether the listed price includes GST before you pay.

When you compare quotes, also check whether the price covers the cake topper, candles, a message plaque and the box, and whether delivery is charged separately.

Which bakeries publish custom birthday cake prices?

These ten bakeries publish custom cake prices on their own websites. They are listed A to Z, with prices as shown on 16 October 2026. Designs, fees and lead times change, so confirm the final price when you order.

How did we put this price guide together?

We read each bakery's own price pages on 16 October 2026 and recorded the published prices, delivery fees and lead times. We did not use review scores or star ratings, and we left out older articles whose prices are out of date.

As a cross-check, a SassyMama roundup published about two weeks before our check put customised birthday cakes at S$39 to S$540 across the bakeries it covered. That fits the wider spread we found, with most everyday orders landing between S$60 and S$250. We did not use directory listings for any facts.

Frequently asked questions

How far ahead should I order a custom birthday cake?

Allow 5 to 14 days for most custom cakes and 3 to 4 weeks for tiered, sculpted or peak-season orders. Some bakeries, such as Bloomsbury Bakers, sell express designs that need only 3 days' notice.

What size birthday cake do I need?

Bloomsbury Bakers' guide says a 6 inch cake serves 6 to 8 people, an 8 inch cake 10 to 15 and a 10 inch cake 20 to 25. A 6 inch on 8 inch two-tier cake serves about 25 to 35.

How much is cake delivery, and when is it free?

Standard delivery costs about S$11.90 to S$20. Bob the Baker Boy delivers free above S$150, and Happy Cake and My Bake Studio above S$180. Timed 1-hour windows and early or late slots cost more.

Why does a 3D or fondant cake cost more?

Sculpted cakes are priced by design rather than just size, and they take longer to make, so bakeries ask for more notice. At My Bake Studio, a sculpted Hot Wheels cake costs S$228, against S$55 for its simplest design.

Are there halal or egg-free custom cakes?

My Bake Studio says it uses halal ingredients in a kitchen used solely for baking, though it does not claim MUIS certification. Edith Patisserie sells Baby Smash cakes with no egg, dairy or added sugar from S$89.70.
