Three studios publish their own cost guides, and they broadly agree. Orange Studios says S$300 to S$1,400 or more, with most families paying S$480 to S$800. Yikeshu says S$200 to S$600 or more. The Borealis Studio puts studio shoots at S$300 to S$600 and outdoor shoots at S$400 to S$700. Each of these studios also sells family shoots.
No price page we read says whether GST is included, so ask before you pay. Oh Dear Studio and JJ Photography describe their prices as nett. MediSave and insurance do not apply to photoshoots.
What changes the price of a family photoshoot?
Five things move the price most: the number of people, weekday or weekend, the location, how many edited images you get and how long the session runs. Prints, albums, express editing and make-up add more.
- Number of people: base packages usually cover 4 or 5 people. Each extra person costs from S$15 (Yikeshu) to S$50 (Orange Studios), and pets usually count as a person.
- Weekday or weekend: White Room Studio charges S$100 more at weekends. The Onlookers adds S$30 at weekends and 20% on public holidays.
- Images included: from 5 edited images (Yikeshu, Bambini Mini) to every edited image (Orange Studios). Bambini also offers a S$250 session fee, with images bought after viewing.
- Length and photographer: Our Momento prices by the hour. The Onlookers charges S$450 with an associate photographer or S$520 with its director.
- Extras: same-day editing is S$150 at Our Momento, and The Borealis Studio estimates hair and make-up at about S$200 per person.
Is an outdoor shoot cheaper than a studio shoot?
Usually not. Of the studios we checked, two add an outdoor location fee, one charges the same everywhere and one charges less outdoors than in its studio. Outdoor shoots can also carry transport costs and weather risk.
White Room Studio adds S$150 and ABC Photography S$200 (transport not included), while Orange Studios keeps one price of S$499 wherever you shoot. Our Momento charges S$250 for an hour outdoors against S$300 in its studio. If it rains, Orange Studios charges no reschedule fee, and Our Momento offers to reschedule or move indoors.

Book on a weekday, count everyone including babies and pets, and decide how many edited images you want before comparing packages. A low starting price with few edits can end up costing more than a package that includes every image.
