Registering a trademark in Singapore costs S$280 per class in IPOS fees if you use IPOS's pre-approved descriptions, or S$410 per class if you write your own. Using an agent adds a professional fee: published all-in prices start at S$450 per class. The number of classes, custom wording, acceleration and any objections change the total.

Official fees on this page come from the IPOS forms and fees page, and agent prices from each agent's own website, all checked on 3 October 2026.

What are the official IPOS trademark fees in 2026?

IPOS charges S$280 per class to file an application (Form TM4) when every item comes from its Classification Database, and S$410 per class otherwise. Renewal every ten years is S$480 per class. These fees apply whether you file yourself or through an agent.

How much do trademark agents charge on top of IPOS fees?

Of the agents we checked, two publish a price: both charge a S$170 professional fee plus the S$280 IPOS fee, for S$450 per class. Most others quote on request, usually because search, class planning and objections vary by mark.

What changes the cost of registering a trademark?

The number of classes is the biggest driver, because every IPOS fee is charged per class. After that, custom descriptions, acceleration, examination objections and oppositions from third parties add cost.

  • Number of classes. A brand selling both clothing and retail services may need two or more classes, and each one is charged in full.
  • Custom descriptions. Writing your own goods and services wording raises the IPOS fee from S$280 to S$410 per class.
  • Acceleration. Asking IPOS to speed things up costs an extra S$200 or S$250 per class.
  • Objections. If the examiner raises an objection, responding takes extra work. Nair Trademarks lists responses to examination objections among its services; ask any agent how it charges for them.
  • Oppositions. If someone opposes your mark, the dispute can cost far more than the filing. IPOS charges S$420 per class just to file an opposition.

Can I register a trademark without an agent?

Yes. You can file directly with IPOS and pay only the official fee, from S$280 per class. Cantab IP notes on its own site that you do not need an agent to file, but that one can help with registrability, searches and specification drafting.

Filing yourself saves the professional fee. An agent earns its fee by checking for conflicting marks before you file, choosing the right classes and wording, and handling objections, which is where most self-filed applications run into trouble.

How much does it cost to keep a trademark?

A Singapore registration lasts ten years and costs S$480 per class to renew. Renew late and the fee rises to S$700 per class, or S$770 to restore a registration that has lapsed.
